Mickie began playing music as a teen. He founded Lark In The Morning, an international business that specializes in rare and unusual musical instruments. He is a musical instrument collector, and a videographer specializing in traditional music and dance. He has performed with "Mickie & Elizabeth", "The Zekley Family Band" "The Golden Toad," "McClouds Ceili Band," "Take A Dance" and "Mooncoin." Mickie performs Scottish & Irish music on the Highland Bagpipes & Scottish Smallpipes and many other instruments. He has been playing the pipes for over 40 years. Recordings featuring Mickie include "Fiona's Folly," the "Mooncoin" album. He has performed on the Today television show &bull Good Morning America Television Show &bull McCabes &bull The Troubadour &bull UC Irvine &bull UC Riverside &bull UC Santa Barbara &bull Cal State Humboldt &bull Chemeketa College &bull Western Washington University &bull University of Oregon at Eugene &bull Reed College &bull CSU Sacramento &bull Moorpark College &bull CSU Fresno &bull CSU Dominguez Hills &bull College of Notre Dame &bull College of Marin &bull Orange Coast College &bull Golden West College &bull Pilgrims School &bull and hundreds of concert series', folk clubs, radio shows and other events, and has been a recipient of a touring grant from the Arizona Commission On The Arts, University of Arizona, and much more.
